Dear Tate Modern

Self Portrait Tate Modern 2011

Dear Tate Modern.
I have been a practicing artist based in Wales for 20 years and would like the opportunity to show case my work with Tate Modern.
I sent a proposal regarding my visual practice accompanied with slides to the curatorial team on more than one occasion over the past year or so and am still awaiting your decision.
I look forward to hearing from you,

Sheree

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for introducing yourself and your work to the curatorial team at Tate Modern.

Your proposal will be forwarded to Curatorial staff for consideration. However, please note that Tate Modern receives a very large number of similar requests, and that it is quite rare for such submissions to be included in the programme. Our exhibition programme is confirmed around three years in advance, and most exhibitions are the result of proposals from internal curators or collaborations with other institutions. Therefore we can only rarely accommodate unsolicited projects.

Due to the large volume of proposals received, we will only be able to respond to those proposals which would be appropriate for our programme. Tate will endeavour to respond to those proposals of suitability within 2 to 3 months. We are grateful for your patience while we consider them.

Please note that Tate do not offer gallery space for hire for exhibitions. We are not a commercial gallery, and therefore cannot represent artists or sell works on their behalf.

Additionally, due to the pressures on Tate curators’ time, unfortunately we are not able to provide specific feedback.

Thank you for thinking of Tate Modern.
